Film screening: “Flying Circus”

The film screening of the film “Flying Circus” written and directed by Fatos Berisha was screened at the Culture Center (13.05.2022 at 20:00).

The story begins with four actors travelling illegally across the Balkan borders in time of war. At the theater festival. But their real mission is to find their idol Michael Palin.

Flying Circus is a surreal black comedy based on real events. Kosovo is on the verge of war. Dodona, a small theater in Pristina, is the last public institution to close. The four protagonists, the young actors Kushtrim (Armend Smiley), Donat (Afrim Mucaj), Fatmir (Shpëtim Selmani) and Leke (Tristan Halilaj), from the play “Flying Circus”, inspired by the legendary British series “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” receive a invitation to perform at a theater festival in Albania. The road is dangerous. They do not have passports to cross the border. At first they decide not to go, but despite the temptations, Fatmir hears in the news that Michael Palin from the Monty Python team will shoot in Albania during the festival days and then they can not resist the idea that they may meet their idol. The only way to get to Albania is to cross the Montenegrin-Albanian border illegally, which is a big risk.
